Fees, Insurance and Payments:

At the time of your consultation, we will explain the costs that you can expect for your treatment.  We fully understand that affordability is important to our patients.  Utilizing these state-of-the-art radio freqency treatments results in fees that are less than traditional surgery.  And because some patients may require recurring appointments to solve extreme conditions, we also offer discounts when appointments and procedures are packaged together.

Most major insurance companies will cover the costs associated with vein removal treatments.  Bring your insurance identification card with you so our staff can verify your coverage prior to your treatments.

For your convenience, Southern Arizona Laser Vein Institute accepts most major credit cards to help pay for the procedures if they are not covered by your insurance provider.

Patient Forms:

To help expedite your check-in process, we offer printable forms for you to complete and bring to your first appointment.  Simply click on each applicable form, print out a copy for yourself and bring your completed forms to your evaluation.  If you are unable to print these forms in advance, they will be supplied to you at the office for completion when you arrive.

Procedures Available:

Endovenous Radiofrequency Therapy (VNUS)

The Endovenous Radiofrequency Therapy has been used with success in treating large varicose veins, small saphenous veins and other superficial veins.  VNUS is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that leaves little to no scarring.  With a short and relatively painless recovery period, VNUS is performed under local anesthesia right in our office, and most patients return to normal activity immediately following their appointment.  Though the procedure varies by patient and condition of the treatment area, most appointments are completed in approximately 45 minutes.

Microphlebectomy

Developed in the 1960′s by a Swiss physician, Microphlebectomy (also known as Ambulatory Phlebectomy) is an advanced and minimally invasive method of eliminating varicose veins.  Performed under local anesthesia in the comfort of our office, Microphlebectomy uses a specially designed instrument, to gently remove veins through tiny skin openings.  Unlike vein stripping, virtually no scarring occurs with Microphlebectomy.

Sclerotherapy

Developed in Europe in the early 1930′s, Sclerotherapy eliminates unsightly and embarrassing spider veins of the leg.  Using an extremely fine and nearly painless needle, the treatment involves injecting a small amount of sclerosing solution into the affected veins.  This causes the veins to gently dry up while the body’s natural healing response absorbs them.

Because blood flow is shifted to healthy veins, Sclerotherapy can improve circulation in the legs.  And despite all advancements in laser technology, Sclerotherapy remains the overwhelming choice of doctors and patients for spider vein treatment.  Why?  Because it is more effective, less expensive and less painful than any other treatment available.

Compression Stockings:

While compression stockings are often not covered by insurance, they will be an essential part of your follow-up and recovery.  In fact, all patients will be asked to begin wearing medical grade compression stockings within days after your procedure as been completed.

Additional information on the benefits of wearing compression stockings and specific post-op instructions will be discussed during your consultation appointment.

For patients who already own compression stockings, you may not need to purchase a new set for this procedure.  If you do not own compression stockings, or if you would like to purchase a new set, Southern Arizona Laser Vein Institute offers medical grade compression stockings at a discounted price as compared to other medical supply companies in Tucson.

In either case, we encourage you to have stockings prior to your procedure appointment as it may be difficult to purchase them in time for when you need them.
